Our service offerings and charges
We offer you free advice by telephone, fax or email on any problems that you might encounter with your printers. If we cannot resolve your problem in less than 15 minutes, we will charge you $25 for each additional 15 minutes telephone support.
We are familiar with many of the things that are likely to go wrong and we have found that many printer problems can be solved simply and cheaply. We may be able to solve the problem on the telephone or at least help you to diagnose the problem and give you an estimate of how much it might cost to fix. We have an extensive range of spare parts on offer and we can assist you in the techniques of removal and re-installation, should you decide to address the problem yourself.
We are happy to service any of your existing HP or Lexmark laser printers, regardless of where or when you purchased them. If you bring or send the printer to us, we will give you an assessment of the condition of your printer and subsequently advise you on whether or not the service/repair is likely to be cost effective, given the age and condition of the printer. We will charge you $50 (payable in advance) to assess your printer and provide you with a quotation. If you decide to proceed, this $50 payment will be deducted from the cost of the service/repair.
Our service offerings include a major service involving a complete overhaul of the printer (typically every 250,000 pages); a minor service to check the operation of the printer, clean the printer and replace small items such as pick-up rollers and separation pads (typically every 50,000 pages); a repair only to fix a specific problem; and extended telephone support.
The above charges are based on the assumption that you deliver the printer to our workshop. We recommend that you contact us first before bringing your printer to us. You may bring the printer yourself or you may send the printer to us via courier. If you do not have an account with a courier, it might be cheaper for you to ask us to arrange for your printer to be collected by Startrack Express. If you do use a courier, please read our advice (given in our support section) on how to pack a printer so that it is least likely to be damaged in transit through rough handling. Unless you pack the printer properly, it is likely to arrive with a number of broken panels or worse.
If you require on-site service, we will charge an additional fee depending on the time and distance we have to travel.

Warranty on printer servicing
We offer six months return-to-base warranty on all printers that we service. The warranty will be limited to the work done and the parts replaced during the service.
